In a developing controversy surrounding a sting operation aimed at former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy has vowed to provide comprehensive details about the investigation on Monday. Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh revealed that the mobile phone allegedly used in the operation was acquired in New Delhi and subsequently delivered to Kumaraswamy's official residence.

According to Commissioner Singh, the phone was purchased from a shop in Karol Bagh, Delhi, by accused individuals Ritesh Pandey and Vinod Sharma. The device was then handed over to Prajwal Prasad at Kumaraswamy's residence, reportedly following instructions from Prasad, who was present during the transfer. Pandey, arrested on October 24, is the first suspect apprehended in this case, with police citing technical evidence that corroborates parts of his account.

Kumaraswamy responded to the police's claims by questioning the credibility of the police commissioner and the state government's investigation methods. He stated, "Who is this police commissioner? You will get my statement tomorrow. I will explain everything." He further criticized the government, asserting that it is attempting to shield certain individuals through the investigation.

The police have issued notices to Sharma and Prasad, who are currently evading arrest and have sought anticipatory bail from the court. The police intend to contest their bail applications and are actively searching for both men. Singh emphasized that further questioning of the suspects is crucial to clarify their roles in the alleged sting operation.

This case emerged after two videos containing allegations against Siddaramaiah surfaced on YouTube in September. The ongoing investigation raises significant questions about governance and accountability within the state, as Kumaraswamy prepares to reveal more information that could impact the political landscape in Karnataka.
