The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for six districts in Telangana as Cyclone Murasu approaches the Andhra Pradesh coast, expected to make landfall on the morning of November 3. The districts under the orange alert include Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, and Wanaparthy, indicating a forecast of heavy to very heavy rainfall.
In addition to the orange alert, a yellow alert has been announced for five other districts: Jangaon, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, and Medchal Malkajgiri. This alert signifies the likelihood of heavy rainfall in these areas, prompting residents to prepare for potential weather disruptions.
The IMD's latest bulletin highlights that Hyderabad and its neighboring regions are expected to experience a partly cloudy sky over the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by gusty winds, are anticipated in various parts of the city. The forecast indicates maximum temperatures around 34 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures near 24 degrees Celsius.
The impact of Cyclone Murasu is significant, as it poses risks of flooding and disruption in the affected districts. Local authorities are on high alert, advising residents to stay informed and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during the storm's approach.
As the cyclone nears, the IMD will continue to monitor the situation closely, providing updates on weather conditions and alerts. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and follow guidance from local officials as the storm develops further.
