Delhi Weather Update: Rain and Lightning Expected on October 10
The India Meteorological Department predicts brief rain and lightning in Delhi, with temperatures dropping to 32°C.
Delhi's maximum temperature is forecasted to reach 32°C on October 9.
A yellow alert has been issued for eight districts in Uttarakhand due to expected moderate rainfall.
Unsettled weather conditions will affect travel and outdoor activities across northern and southern India.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that Delhi's weather will be partly cloudy tomorrow, October 10, with brief spells of rain and possible lightning. The maximum temperature in the capital is expected to drop to 32°C, while temperatures are likely to hover between 32°C and 33°C over the next couple of days.
While the forecast does not indicate heavy rainfall for Delhi, residents should prepare for scattered showers that may impact morning and evening commutes, as well as outdoor activities. The IMD has warned that local drainage systems could be challenged by short, intense rainfalls in certain areas.
In addition to Delhi, parts of Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow, are also expected to experience scattered rainfall, although it is anticipated to be lighter than in southern regions. The IMD has identified several northern cities, including Patna, as potential sites for similar weather patterns.
A yellow alert has been issued for eight districts in Uttarakhand, including Dehradun and Haridwar, where moderate rainfall and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph are expected over the next four days. Other regions in Uttarakhand may see light to moderate rain, with snowfall possible at higher elevations. This shift in weather follows the recent withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from the state.
As unsettled weather continues across various regions, including Himachal Pradesh, where thunderstorms and gusty winds are predicted, residents are advised to remain vigilant. The IMD's forecast suggests that while Delhi's weather will remain below heavy-rain warning levels, those in Uttarakhand's yellow-alert districts should monitor updates closely regarding rainfall and lightning.
