A people's tribunal on electoral rolls is set for Thursday at Freedom Park.

Concerns have been raised about eligible voters potentially being excluded from the electoral rolls.
A significant event, termed a 'people's tribunal,' is scheduled for Thursday at Freedom Park in Bengaluru, focusing on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. This gathering will feature prominent figures such as YouTuber Dhruv Rathee, actor-activist Prakash Raj, and CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, who are expected to address the concerns of citizens impacted by the SIR process.
The tribunal aims to shed light on the issues faced by individuals across Karnataka who believe they have been unjustly removed from the electoral rolls during the SIR exercise. The event is organized by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) in collaboration with various youth organizations and civil society groups, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
Prakash Raj, known for his outspoken criticism of the SIR, has called on citizens to participate in the tribunal, highlighting the importance of collective action. In a video message, he stated that the event would unite the 'victims of SIR' from different regions of the state. Dhruv Rathee also confirmed his attendance through a post on X, framing the tribunal as part of a broader struggle to 'save democracy' in Karnataka.
CJP co-convener Ashutosh Ranka mentioned that the organizers would engage with Kannadigas who have reportedly lost their names from the voters' list due to the SIR. This interaction aims to gather firsthand accounts and provide a platform for those affected to voice their grievances.
Following the tribunal, a 'chappal protest' is planned to express solidarity with women, as stated by Ranka in a recent post on X. The Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls has sparked significant political discourse in Karnataka, with many critics voicing concerns about the potential exclusion of eligible voters from the electoral process, raising questions about the integrity of the electoral system in the state.
