In Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, a member of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) named Christopher was arrested on Thursday for allegedly sexually harassing a college student. The incident reportedly occurred after he offered the student a lift home. Christopher, who is part of the party's central district executive committee, had been evading authorities since a case was filed against him.

The complainant, a second-year student from Kulasekaram, attends a private college in Nagercoil. She was waiting for a bus with another student, who is also affiliated with TVK, when Christopher, familiar with the other student, stopped his vehicle to offer them a ride, claiming he was headed in the same direction.

After dropping off the other student at Moolachal, Christopher continued towards Kulasekaram with the complainant. According to police reports, he assured her of a safe drop-off near her home. However, during the journey, he allegedly stopped the vehicle and proceeded to sexually harass her. The student confronted him and attempted to exit the car to escape.

Following the incident, Christopher dropped the student near her residence and fled the scene. Upon reaching home, she informed her parents about the ordeal and later discussed it with her college friend. Together, they approached the Thuckalay police station to file a formal complaint against him.

Authorities are currently conducting further investigations into the matter, seeking to gather more evidence and witness statements to support the case against Christopher.
