Three Arrested in Kochi for Assaulting Doctor Over False Claims

In a shocking incident in Kochi, three individuals, including two actors, have been arrested for allegedly luring a doctor to an apartment under the guise of a medical emergency. The incident occurred on Monday morning at around 6:30 AM when the doctor was summoned to a flat in the Essen Springdale complex, where he was met with a violent ambush by a group of twelve people.
The First Information Report (FIR) reveals that upon arrival, the doctor was confronted with accusations of having assaulted a relative of the assailants. This led to a brutal attack where the accused, including actor Athulya Chandra and actor-producer Bibin Perumbilli, physically assaulted the doctor, slapping him and striking him in the ribs while he was restrained in a chair.
During the assault, Chandra reportedly seized the doctor’s cellphone, smartwatch, and wireless earphones, threatening him with violence. The FIR detailed that the other assailants locked the doctor in a room and participated in the beating, indicating a coordinated effort to intimidate and rob him.
After managing to escape, the doctor promptly reported the incident at the Kadavanthra police station. Law enforcement officials have indicated that they are pursuing leads on the identities of the nine additional suspects involved in the crime and are considering whether robbery was the sole motive behind the attack.
