A woman hailing from Nagaland reported an alarming incident that took place in the early hours of October 4 outside The Ashok hotel in New Delhi. According to her complaint, she and a friend were allegedly targeted by three men in a white Mercedes as they exited the washroom around 3:30 AM. The situation escalated into a violent confrontation, prompting police involvement.

The woman, aged 28, detailed in her complaint that as she and her friend were leaving the washroom, the men attempted to abduct them near the hotel's exit. The police are currently investigating this kidnapping allegation. An official from The Ashok hotel clarified that the individuals involved were guests of SOHO, a separate club operating within the hotel premises, and emphasized that the hotel itself was not connected to the incident.

During the altercation, the woman's male friends intervened, leading to a physical confrontation. She claimed that the assailants used hockey sticks and fists to attack her friends, resulting in injuries. "One of our male friends came to save us while we were struggling. The three men hit him with hockey sticks and punched him in the face," she stated. The attackers reportedly removed their car's number plate to hide their identities and attempted to flee the scene when police arrived.

Following the incident, a police team responded to a PCR call about a fight at the hotel, where they found a large crowd and two groups arguing. Both groups were taken to the police station for questioning. Medical examinations were conducted on the woman and her friends at RML Hospital, revealing no significant external injuries on four members of her group. However, one man was reported to have lost consciousness due to the assault.

The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including voluntarily causing hurt and wrongful restraint. Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and the involvement of those present. As of now, no arrests have been made, raising concerns about safety in public spaces, especially for women.
