In a tragic incident, a 25-year-old woman named Asiya, also known as Tina, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Lucknow's Dubagga area on Saturday night. Her body was located near the Kisan Path underpass, prompting local authorities to initiate a murder investigation after a handwritten note containing the names of four men and a four-digit number was discovered in her bag.
Asiya, a resident of Safipur in Unnao, was reported missing earlier that day after she left her sister's home in Nawabganj around noon. Family members became concerned when she did not arrive at her destination, leading to a search that culminated in the grim discovery of her body. Preliminary examinations revealed visible injuries on her face, suggesting she may have been strangled.
The police have not released the names mentioned in the note but are exploring its potential connection to the murder. Investigators are also considering whether the four-digit number could relate to a vehicle or another significant lead. An FIR was lodged at the Dubagga police station by Asiya's elder sister, Nasreen Bano, alleging that an unidentified individual murdered her sister and disposed of the body to hide the crime.
Authorities are actively reconstructing Asiya's movements from the time she left her sister's residence until her body was found. They are reviewing CCTV footage and contacting individuals she interacted with prior to her disappearance. Assistant Commissioner of Police Shakeel Ahmad noted that Asiya was wearing a burqa when her body was discovered, and the preliminary examination indicated that she had been deceased for approximately five to six hours.
Family members described Asiya as having a troubled personal life, having been married twice. However, police have stated that no direct link between her personal circumstances and the murder has been established at this time. The investigation continues as authorities seek to uncover the truth behind this tragic event.
