On October 22, 2026, the Maharashtra government officially inaugurated two significant road projects aimed at improving transportation in Mumbai. The projects include the Ramkrishna Chemburkar Marg-Lalbahadur Shastri Marg Flyover and a flyover at the junction near Ratnagiri Hotel as part of the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) - Tunnel Project.
The Ramkrishna Chemburkar Marg-Lalbahadur Shastri Marg Flyover Project, also known as the Vidyavihar RoB, features a two-lane flyover that connects Ramkrishna Chemburkar Marg in the east to Lalbahadur Shastri Marg in the west. This infrastructure spans a length of 650 meters and has been developed at an estimated cost of Rs 1,789.3 million, reflecting the government's commitment to enhancing urban mobility.
Additionally, the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) - Tunnel Project, specifically Phase IIIA, includes the construction of a flyover at the junction near Ratnagiri Hotel. This flyover measures 1.26 kilometers in length and 24.2 meters in width, designed to accommodate three lanes in each direction, thereby facilitating smoother traffic flow in the area.
These projects are expected to significantly improve traffic conditions in Mumbai, reducing congestion and travel time for commuters. The government aims to bolster infrastructure development as part of its broader strategy to enhance urban connectivity and support economic growth in the region.
Looking ahead, the completion of these projects is anticipated to pave the way for further infrastructure initiatives in Maharashtra. The government is likely to continue investing in road development to meet the growing demands of urban transportation and improve overall quality of life for residents.
