The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has concluded its investigation into Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Tiger Shroff concerning their advertisements for Vimal Pan Masala. FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe announced on Friday that the investigation revealed violations of state advertising regulations, and the case is set to move to adjudication next week.

Commissioner Mundhe stated that the actors had requested additional time to respond to the allegations. However, the assistant commissioner has completed the investigation, confirming that the actors breached state rules in their promotional activities. "The proceedings have now concluded, and the case will be proposed for adjudication before the joint commissioner, who is the competent authority, by next week," Mundhe explained.

Adjudication is a quasi-judicial process that allows regulators to assess evidence and determine if legal violations have occurred. This process can lead to penalties for non-criminal offenses without the need for lengthy court trials. In this case, the FDA's findings could result in significant consequences for the involved actors.

In a related development, Ajay Devgn has sought intervention from the Bombay High Court regarding the FDA's actions. Despite this legal maneuver, Commissioner Mundhe indicated that the FDA would continue its proceedings before the joint commissioner, emphasizing the seriousness of the violations.

Previously, the FDA had issued notices to the actors concerning their advertisements for Vimal Elaichi, suggesting that these promotions constituted surrogate advertising for banned pan masala products. The FDA argued that the brand was associated with the sale of gutkha and pan masala, which are prohibited in Maharashtra. The authority required the actors to clarify their involvement with the ads and to cease any promotional activities related to these products, while also demanding details on the due diligence they performed before endorsing the brand.
