Container Truck Cabin Fire Disrupts Ghodbunder Highway Traffic
A container truck's cabin caught fire on Ghodbunder Highway, leading to significant traffic delays.

On Saturday afternoon, traffic on the Ghodbunder Highway was severely disrupted for approximately one hour due to a fire in the cabin of a container truck. The incident took place near the Manpada flyover, impacting vehicles traveling towards Majiwada.
The Regional Disaster Management Cell reported that the fire erupted around 1:30 PM as the truck, which was transporting an empty container from Vasai to Pune, was climbing the flyover. The driver noticed smoke emanating from the cabin, promptly stopped the vehicle, and exited before the flames engulfed the cabin.
Emergency response teams, including personnel from the Kasarvadavali police, traffic police, the Disaster Management Cell, and the fire brigade, arrived at the scene swiftly. They managed to extinguish the fire within 30 minutes, although the cabin was completely destroyed in the blaze.
The fire incident necessitated a temporary halt of traffic on the Majiwada-bound lane, leading to extensive queues that extended past the Anand Nagar junction. This caused considerable inconvenience for motorists traveling in the area.
Authorities have stated that an investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the fire, ensuring that similar incidents can be prevented in the future.
