In preparation for the anticipated influx of passengers during the Diwali 2026 festivities, Central Railway has announced the operation of 12 special train services connecting Mumbai and Nagpur. This initiative aims to provide additional travel options for commuters, ensuring a smoother journey during the busy holiday season.

The special trains will operate from two key terminals: Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). Train number 01083 will depart from LTT at 5:05 PM on November 6, 8, 11, and 13, arriving in Nagpur the next morning at 7 AM. Conversely, train number 01084 will leave Nagpur at 1:30 PM on November 5, 7, 10, and 12, reaching LTT at 6:15 AM the following day.

These trains will make stops at various stations including Wardha, Dhamangaon, and Bhusaval, among others. The train composition will feature a mix of AC-2 Tier, AC-3 Tier, sleeper-class coaches, and second seating-guard's brake vans, catering to a range of passenger needs. Additionally, four services will be available from CSMT to Nagpur, with similar schedules and stops.

The introduction of these special services is expected to alleviate congestion and provide much-needed convenience for travelers during the festive period. With the trains halting at multiple key locations, passengers will have greater accessibility to their destinations. The initiative reflects Central Railway's commitment to enhancing travel experiences during peak seasons.

Ticket bookings for these special trains will commence on November 4, 2026. Passengers can reserve their seats at all Passenger Reservation System (PRS) locations or through the IRCTC website. For unreserved coaches, tickets can be purchased at standard fares via the UTS system. Detailed information regarding train timings and halts is available on the Indian Railways enquiry website and the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) app.
