On November 2, 2026, the South Region Cyber Police Station in Mumbai arrested three men in Nagpur, including the alleged mastermind of a trading investment fraud racket. This operation has unveiled connections to 73 cybercrime cases across India, with six of these cases originating in Mumbai. The police's swift action has highlighted the extensive nature of the fraud and its impact on victims nationwide.

The accused reportedly established a fictitious company named Grain Garden Delight Pvt. Ltd., which they used to open a current account at the Central Bank of India's Jaripatka branch in Nagpur. This account was allegedly utilized to receive and transfer money obtained through cyber fraud activities. The police have indicated that an estimated Rs 24.75 lakh was funneled through this account as part of the fraudulent scheme.

According to police reports, the suspects conspired to create a paper company, complete with fake shop rent agreements, to facilitate the opening of the bank account. The main accused, Amit Kale, is believed to have used a SIM card linked to this account to conduct transactions and provide access to other associates involved in the fraud. Investigators utilized technical analysis and information from the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal to track down the suspects.

During the operation, law enforcement officials seized numerous items that were allegedly used to perpetrate the fraud. These included 11 cheque books from various bank accounts, 25 SIM cards, multiple rubber stamps and stamp pads associated with shell companies, as well as debit and ATM cards. The evidence collected is expected to play a crucial role in the ongoing investigation led by Senior Police Inspector Nandkumar Gopale and his team.

Looking ahead, the police are continuing their investigation to uncover further details about the network of fraudsters and their operations. Authorities are urging individuals who may have fallen victim to similar scams to come forward and report their cases, as the investigation could lead to additional arrests and a broader understanding of the cybercrime landscape in India.
