In a significant move, the Besa-Pipla Nagar Panchayat has issued final notices to three bars in Nagpur, demanding valid documentation to prove their legal operation. The civic authority has warned that failure to comply will result in demolition of the establishments, reflecting a crackdown on unauthorized structures in the area.

This recent action is part of a broader initiative by the Nagar Panchayat, which has already sent notices to 25 establishments, requesting ownership and lease documents. Bharat Nandanwar, the chief executive officer of the Besa-Pipla Nagar Panchayat, emphasized that notices are being issued at three-week intervals, and if the third notice goes unanswered, demolition will proceed. He stressed the importance of owners providing legal documents to avoid such measures.

The latest notices come on the heels of a demolition that occurred on Friday, where the ground floor of a bar-cum-restaurant in Revatinagar was taken down. The owner, Digvijay Jaiswal, reportedly received four notices without responding, prompting the action. Nandanwar noted that approximately 20 to 25 bars and restaurants in the vicinity are suspected of operating from unauthorized buildings, intensifying the need for regulatory compliance.

In addition to the demolition efforts, the Nagar Panchayat is collaborating with the state excise department to review the licenses of the establishments under scrutiny. Information is being shared with the department, which will verify the bar and liquor licenses and consider revocation if necessary. This dual approach aims to ensure that all establishments adhere to legal standards while maintaining public safety.

The initiative also addresses parking violations associated with bars and restaurants lacking adequate parking facilities. Officials highlighted that customers frequently park along roads, exacerbating traffic congestion in the rapidly developing Besa-Pipla area. The Nagar Panchayat's actions are expected to improve both legal compliance and traffic conditions in the region.
