Nifty 50 Eyes 23,500 as Technical Indicators Turn Bullish
Sudeep Shah of SBI Securities highlights a positive shift in Nifty's technical setup, suggesting a potential rise beyond 23,500 next week.
Nifty 50 must surpass the 23,150-23,200 range for further gains.
Gland Pharma and TVS Motor Company show strong bullish momentum.
Bank Nifty faces resistance at 55,000-55,200, crucial for recovery.
Sudeep Shah, the Head of Technical and Derivatives Research at SBI Securities, has identified a constructive short-term technical setup for the Nifty 50 index. Following a recent recovery, the index has reclaimed its 20-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA), which is now trending upwards. The daily Relative Strength Index (RSI) also indicates strengthening bullish momentum, suggesting that the index may push higher in the coming week.
For the Nifty 50 to maintain its upward trajectory, it needs to decisively break through the immediate resistance zone around the 50-day EMA, which lies between 23,150 and 23,200. A successful breakout above this level could set the stage for a rise towards the 23,500 mark, enhancing the likelihood of reclaiming key medium-term moving averages. The recent pullback from lower levels has improved the chances of the index continuing its higher-high, higher-low formation into November.
Shah has also pointed out bullish trends in specific stocks, notably Gland Pharma and TVS Motor Company. Gland Pharma has been consolidating within a range but is expected to break out due to its alignment with technical indicators. Meanwhile, TVS Motor has shown a decisive breakout above its downward trendline, supported by increased trading volumes, indicating strong buying interest. Investors are advised to accumulate shares of Gland Pharma in the range of Rs 3,085-3,105 with a stop-loss at Rs 3,010, while TVS Motor is recommended for accumulation in the Rs 4,180-4,210 range with a stop-loss at Rs 4,080.
On the other hand, the Bank Nifty index has shown signs of recovery, closing the week around 54,700, marking a gain of 0.74%. However, it remains below key moving averages, and the 55,000-55,200 zone is seen as a crucial resistance level. A sustained move above 55,200 could lead to further gains towards 56,000. Conversely, strong support is anticipated in the 54,100-54,000 range, which will be vital for maintaining the current recovery structure.
Looking ahead, the market's performance will depend on overcoming these resistance levels and maintaining support. Investors are encouraged to monitor the Nifty's movement closely, as the upcoming week could be pivotal for both the index and selected stocks, with potential for significant upward momentum if bullish trends continue.
