Maruti Suzuki has set a new benchmark in its sales performance, achieving a record total of 2,76,120 units sold in October 2026. This figure represents a significant 25% increase compared to the same month last year, surpassing its previous monthly high of approximately 2.43 lakh units recorded in May 2026. The company has attributed this growth to a rise in passenger vehicle sales, robust export figures, and increased supplies to Toyota.

The domestic market played a crucial role in this achievement, with Maruti's car sales reaching 2,12,384 units, reflecting a 20.46% increase from 1,76,318 units in October 2025. This translates to an additional 36,066 units sold. The sequential growth was also noteworthy, with sales increasing by 16.80% from September 2026, where 1,81,838 units were sold. The mini, compact, and midsize car segments collectively accounted for 1,00,877 units, showing an 18.39% rise from the previous year.

In the utility vehicle segment, Maruti reported sales of 97,787 units, a substantial increase of 26.06% from 77,571 units in October 2025. This category, which includes popular models like the Brezza and Grand Vitara, contributed significantly to the overall sales growth. Additionally, Eeco sales saw a slight increase, reaching 13,720 units.

Exports also played a pivotal role in Maruti's sales success, with figures jumping 59.32% to 49,872 units compared to 31,304 units in October 2025. This increase accounted for about one-third of the company's overall year-on-year growth. In comparison to September's exports of 44,219 units, there was a 12.78% rise, indicating a strong demand in international markets. Sales to Toyota also experienced a boost, with 9,459 units sold, marking a 6.10% increase from the previous year.

Looking ahead, Maruti Suzuki's performance from April to October 2026 indicates a promising trend, with total sales reaching 16,55,498 units, a 27.38% increase from the previous year. The company is expected to continue leveraging its strong domestic and export markets to maintain this growth trajectory, with utility vehicles leading the charge in domestic sales increases. The upcoming months will be crucial for sustaining this momentum as the automotive market evolves.
