Hyundai has officially launched the Bayon, its second compact SUV, in India, filling the gap between the Venue and Creta. This new model is designed to cater to the growing demand for compact SUVs in the Indian market, offering a blend of style, technology, and performance.

The Bayon boasts impressive dimensions, measuring 4,245 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,605 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. Its exterior features a minimalist front with a blanked-off grille and distinctive LED DRLs. The side profile showcases a rugged design with prominent body cladding and 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, while the rear is highlighted by slim tail lamps and a bold 'BAYON' badge.

Inside, the Bayon adopts a modern aesthetic, drawing design cues from the fourth-generation i20. It includes a 12.3-inch digital driver's display and a matching touchscreen infotainment system. The interior is available in two color schemes, black and olive grey, with features like a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a Bose sound system enhancing the driving experience. Safety is prioritized with six airbags, ISOFIX mounts, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) that include adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist.

Under the hood, the Bayon is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 115 PS of power and 144 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual or a CVT. A CNG variant is expected to be available from January 2027, catering to those looking for economical running costs. The pricing starts at Rs 10 lakh, making it competitive against rivals like the Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Honda Elevate.

As the Bayon enters the market, it is anticipated to strengthen Hyundai's position in the compact SUV segment. With its blend of features, safety, and competitive pricing, the Bayon is set to attract a wide range of customers looking for a stylish and functional vehicle.
