Adani Enterprises announced its financial results for the second quarter of FY27, revealing a remarkable 75% increase in revenue, reaching Rs 37,216 crore. This surge is notable compared to Rs 21,248 crore reported in the same quarter last year. However, the company faced a significant decline in net profit, which dropped by 55% to Rs 1,492 crore, down from Rs 3,304 crore a year earlier, primarily due to exceptional gains in the previous period.
The previous year's profit figures were bolstered by extraordinary gains amounting to Rs 3,583 crore. In contrast, the current quarter saw Adani Enterprises’ profit before exceptional items and tax more than double to Rs 2,002 crore, up from Rs 814.35 crore in the same quarter last year. Total expenses also rose sharply, increasing over 71% year-on-year to Rs 36,021 crore, reflecting the company's expanding operations.
The company’s net worth has significantly increased to Rs 1.04 lakh crore, compared to Rs 61,578 crore in Q2 FY26 and Rs 87,460 crore in Q1 FY27. Despite this growth, the operating margin has slightly decreased to 14.8%, down from 15.56% in the same quarter last year. A major contributor to the revenue growth was the copper business, which accounted for nearly 40% of total revenue, soaring to Rs 14,772 crore amidst rising demand across various sectors including renewable energy and electric vehicles.
Additionally, Adani's airport business reported nearly a 13% increase in quarterly profit, while the coal trading segment, which contributes over 20% of revenue, grew by 6.6%. Despite these positive developments, the company's share price experienced a decline, trading at Rs 2,481 per share, reflecting a loss of more than 4% over the past week and 12% over the past month. However, the stock has shown a 10% increase in 2026 thus far.
Looking ahead, Adani Enterprises is poised for continued growth, with a market capitalization nearing Rs 3.36 lakh crore. The company’s strategic focus on expanding its copper and infrastructure operations may yield further positive results in the upcoming quarters, as demand for these sectors remains robust.
