The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has declared a yellow alert for the Delhi-NCR region, anticipating rain and thunderstorms on October 29 and 30. The forecast indicates a generally overcast sky with intermittent rain and gusty winds. Residents should prepare for isolated hailstorms that may affect Delhi, Haryana, and Chandigarh during this period.

On Thursday, the maximum temperature in Delhi is projected to be around 27 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is expected to drop to 17 degrees Celsius. The IMD predicts light to moderate rainfall across various locations, with accompanying lightning and strong winds. Morning wind speeds could reach between 40 to 50 kilometers per hour, tapering to 30 to 40 kilometers per hour later in the day.

The unsettled weather is set to persist into Friday, with the IMD forecasting continued thunderstorms and rain. The cloudy conditions are expected to bring further rainfall to the national capital and its neighboring areas, contributing to the overall weather instability.

In addition to the weather alerts, the air quality in Delhi has worsened, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 229, categorizing it as poor. This decline in air quality follows a brief period of moderate levels, which had been recorded at 197 just a day prior. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has noted this deterioration, emphasizing the need for residents to take precautions.

Looking ahead, residents are advised to remain vigilant during thunderstorms and strong winds. The IMD will continue to monitor the situation closely, providing updates as necessary, especially regarding the potential for hailstorms and further weather developments in the coming days.
