Sensex opened 370 points higher, while Nifty rose by 111 points.
Vartis Platforms launched UdhaarSaathi to support small businesses with loans.
Choice International reported record revenue and profit growth for Q2FY27.
On Tuesday, Indian equity markets experienced a robust start, with the Sensex climbing 370 points shortly after the opening bell, indicating a positive sentiment among investors. The Nifty index also saw an increase of 111 points, reflecting a strong performance across various sectors. The Indian rupee opened at 94.69 against the US dollar, appreciating by 21 paise from the previous day's close of 94.90.
This surge in the stock market comes amid various developments in the financial landscape. Vartis Platforms, the parent company of LenDenClub, introduced UdhaarSaathi, a digital loan marketplace aimed at assisting micro and small enterprises in accessing working capital. The platform is expected to facilitate loan disbursements totaling Rs 1,000 crore by the end of the financial year, addressing the financial needs of small retailers, including Kirana stores and street vendors.
In corporate news, Choice International Limited reported its highest-ever consolidated revenue of Rs 379 crore for the second quarter of FY27, marking a significant 33% increase year-on-year. The company's net profit rose to Rs 69.47 crore, with a profit margin of 18.3%. This growth is attributed to increased demand for its services and a rise in demat accounts, which grew by 14% year-on-year to reach 13.78 lakh.
The commodities market also saw fluctuations, with gold and silver prices declining as investors remained cautious ahead of the US midterm elections. Gold prices fell by 0.56%, while silver dropped by 2.28%. Meanwhile, crude oil prices increased slightly, reflecting ongoing geopolitical tensions and negotiations between the US and Iran. The rupee's marginal strengthening against the dollar was supported by lower crude prices, although foreign investor sentiment remains cautious.
Looking ahead, market analysts suggest that the positive momentum in the stock market could continue if the indices break through key resistance levels. The immediate focus will be on upcoming economic data and corporate earnings, which could influence market trends. Investors are advised to monitor these developments closely as they navigate the current market landscape.
