On November 3, the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty indices marked their fourth consecutive day of gains, closing at two-month highs. The Sensex surged by 1,225 points, reaching 76,918, while the Nifty climbed 370 points to finish at 23,811. This upward momentum has seen the Nifty increase nearly 5% over the last four sessions, representing its most significant four-day rise in seven months.

The driving forces behind this rally include renewed buying interest in leading private banks and consumer goods stocks. Notably, HDFC Bank played a pivotal role in supporting the benchmarks. The Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) index also saw a notable increase of 3%, largely attributed to strong performance from Marico, which reported impressive quarterly results.

Marico's shares experienced a remarkable 9% jump following the announcement of robust Q2 results and an optimistic revision of its fiscal year guidance. Other capital market stocks also contributed to the positive trend, with BSE emerging as the top gainer in the Nifty, climbing 5%. Additionally, Reliance Industries saw a recovery, boosting its market capitalization by nearly ₹2 lakh crore over two trading sessions.

Specific stock movements further fueled market activity, with MCX gaining 8% ahead of its Q2 results. Conversely, Power Grid faced a decline of over 3% due to a cautious fiscal outlook, and SBI's stock fell by 2% as lower operating profits impacted its performance despite strong internal metrics. Among the major gainers in the Sensex basket were Nestle India, Bharti Airtel, and ICICI Bank, while Power Grid and Infosys were among the biggest laggards.

Looking ahead, market analysts are keenly observing upcoming earnings reports and economic indicators that could influence the stock market's trajectory. The sustained momentum suggests a cautious optimism among investors, but potential volatility remains as companies continue to report their financial results.
