In a shocking incident early Wednesday morning, two unidentified gunmen fired shots outside the residence of Sahil Jain, a Dubai-based businessman, in the Pitampura area of northwest Delhi. The attack occurred around 5 AM, with video evidence capturing the suspects dismounting from their motorcycle and discharging several rounds before fleeing the scene.
The incident took place in A-Block of Lok Vihar, under the jurisdiction of Subhash Place police station. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, although bullets struck a parked car and a nearby house. Authorities have confirmed that Jain, known colloquially as 'Google', had previously received threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in 2021, leading to a case being registered with the Special Cell in 2023.
CCTV footage from the area reveals the suspects arriving on a motorcycle, with one wearing a helmet while the other concealed his face. The footage shows one of the men stepping off the bike and firing multiple rounds before both suspects quickly departed. Initial investigations uncovered three bullet marks on a car and approximately four to five on the opposite house. Additionally, a live cartridge and two empty shell casings were recovered from the scene.
As the investigation unfolds, police are exploring a potential connection to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, given Jain's previous threats. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Akansha Yadav stated that there had been no recent threats against Jain, and no group has claimed responsibility for the shooting. Authorities are currently analyzing the CCTV footage and assessing the entry and exit points used by the assailants.
