Political Tensions Rise as 'Modi Nahi Jayenge' Chanted in Gujarat
During PM Modi's visit to a cattle farm in Gujarat, political tensions escalated with chants of 'Modi nahi jayenge' prompting a sharp response from Congress.
Chants of 'Modi nahi jayenge' were heard during PM Modi's visit to the Bharat Bovine Breeding Centre.
Congress leader Pawan Khera responded with a sarcastic remark, hinting at Modi's potential departure.
PM Modi's visit included inaugurating projects worth over Rs 14,000 crore in Gujarat.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi faced unexpected political tension during his visit to the Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre (BBBRC) in Gujarat's Banaskantha district on Friday. As he interacted with students and posed for photographs, chants of 'Modi nahi jayenge,' translating to 'Modi will not leave,' echoed through the crowd. This slogan sparked a quick retort from Congress leader Pawan Khera, who dismissed the chants with a sarcastic 'you wish!'.
The incident unfolded against the backdrop of a recent controversial remark by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, who stated, 'Modi ka baap bhi jayega' during an event in Patna. This comment was made in response to an audience member asserting that the Prime Minister would not leave his position. The exchange highlights the ongoing political rivalry as the Congress party seeks to challenge Modi's leadership.
During his two-day visit, PM Modi inaugurated the BBBRC, a 127-acre facility dedicated to enhancing the breeding and genetics of the Kankrej cattle breed. The centre aims to significantly improve breed quality through advanced reproductive technologies. Accompanying Modi were Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, emphasizing the state's political support for the Prime Minister's initiatives.
Modi's visit was part of a broader agenda that included the inauguration and foundation-laying for development projects exceeding Rs 14,000 crore. Key initiatives announced included the release of the 24th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme, amounting to Rs 19,000 crore, and plans for expanding Ahmedabad's metro network. The metro expansion will connect the airport and GIFT City, enhancing urban mobility.
Looking ahead, PM Modi is set to dedicate 521 projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, collectively valued at approximately Rs 4,950 crore. These projects encompass various agricultural enhancements, including cold storage facilities and integrated processing units. The government's focus on improving infrastructure and agricultural productivity aims to bolster the state's economy and address the needs of its citizens.
