Indian Stock Market Set for Positive Opening on October 6
The Indian stock market is anticipated to open positively, buoyed by favorable signals from GIFT Nifty and easing crude oil prices.
GIFT Nifty indicates a positive start for Indian indices on October 6.
Sensex closed at 72,382.47, gaining 472.77 points, while Nifty settled at 22,555.75.
Market analysts suggest monitoring key support and resistance levels for future movements.
On October 6, 2026, the Indian stock market is expected to open on a positive note, as indicated by GIFT Nifty, which suggests an optimistic start for local indices. This comes amid a backdrop of rising Asian markets and favorable trends in US stock futures, which closed in the green on the previous day.
The recent performance of the Indian equity markets has been encouraging, with benchmark indices like Sensex and Nifty showing significant gains. On October 5, the Sensex surged by 472.77 points, or 0.66%, closing at 72,382.47. The index reached a high of 72,631.93 during the session, reflecting a recovery from previous declines. Similarly, Nifty advanced by 133.80 points, or 0.60%, to settle at 22,555.75, indicating a rebound in investor confidence.
Market analysts attribute this positive momentum to easing crude oil prices, which have been a concern for investors. WTI crude is trading between $89 and $90 per barrel, following a decline in prices due to improved crude shipments from the Middle East. Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money, noted that the easing of crude prices has bolstered market sentiment, allowing for a more stable trading environment.
Looking ahead, analysts are advising traders to keep a close watch on key support and resistance levels. Sachin Gupta from Choice Equity Broking highlighted that the Sensex's ability to hold above the 71,800 to 72,000 range could sustain its recovery, while a break below 71,800 might reignite selling pressure. On the Nifty front, Rupak De from LKP Securities mentioned that the index faces resistance around 22,600, and a decisive fall below 22,400 could signal a bearish trend.
As the global markets continue to show strength, with Wall Street's S&P 500 and Nasdaq reaching new highs, the Indian market is poised for potential gains. Investors are encouraged to remain vigilant and consult with certified experts before making investment decisions, as the market dynamics can shift rapidly.
