A weather system in the Bay of Bengal is expected to bring rainfall to Telangana, with heavy showers predicted in several districts.
A depression in the Bay of Bengal is likely to weaken before reaching Telangana.
Heavy rainfall is expected in nine districts on November 2.
Light to moderate rainfall is forecasted from November 2 to 4 across the state.
A weather depression currently forming over the southeast Bay of Bengal is projected to bring rainfall to Telangana starting November 2. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), while the system may initially intensify into a cyclonic storm, it is expected to weaken significantly before making landfall in Telangana.
The IMD has indicated that the depression will move west-northwestward, crossing the Andhra Pradesh coast on the morning of November 3. However, as it progresses inland, its intensity is anticipated to diminish, leading to a forecast of light to moderate rainfall across various regions in Telangana from November 2 to 4.
S. Stella, Head of the IMD Centre in Hyderabad, emphasized that the state is unlikely to experience the full impact of a cyclonic storm, stating, "It will be a depression only. It will weaken. Moreover, when it is weakening, the clouds and all will shear off." On November 2, heavy rainfall is expected in isolated areas of Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal districts.
The following day, November 3, heavy showers are likely to continue in Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal. Hyderabad is also predicted to receive light to moderate rainfall during this period, providing some relief to the region.
The IMD's latest observations show the depression moving west-northwest from the southeast Bay of Bengal, with expectations of it strengthening into a deep depression by the evening of October 31. The system is anticipated to reach the Andhra Pradesh coast by November 2, before advancing further into Telangana, where it will likely bring much-needed rain to the parched areas of the state.
