In a shocking incident in Bengaluru, a software engineer has been accused of raping his friend's girlfriend, a 21-year-old woman, in Marathahalli. The alleged crime took place on October 24, when the victim reported that she was raped by Bursu Mahendra, 23, at the residence he shared with his friend Yerryboina Tarun, also 23. Following the incident, the victim informed her friends, leading to a violent confrontation with the accused.
The situation escalated when the victim's friends kidnapped Mahendra and Tarun, demanding ransom for their release. This occurred between 2:50 AM and 6:00 AM on October 28, prompting Mahendra's father to file a police complaint regarding his son's abduction. The Marathahalli police quickly initiated an investigation into the matter.
Using technical analysis and CCTV footage, law enforcement apprehended 11 individuals connected to the kidnapping, including the victim herself. The arrested suspects range in age from 20 to 31, with some being students and others employed in private firms.
