Trentar Private Limited has announced a substantial investment of Rs. 30,000 crore ($3.3 billion) to establish a 500 MW Green Integrated Hyperscale Data Center in Maharashtra. This initiative was formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with the Maharashtra government during the Invest Maharashtra initiative, marking a significant step into the digital infrastructure sector.

The MoU was presented by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who emphasized the importance of this project in enhancing the state's digital economy. Under the agreement, the Maharashtra government will assist in coordinating necessary permissions, registrations, and approvals, ensuring that the project aligns with existing policies and regulations. Additionally, the project has received a Letter of Intent from the state, outlining the support and incentives available.

Subodh Menon, Group Founder and Vice Chairman of Trentar, expressed pride in contributing to Maharashtra's growth, highlighting the company's extensive experience in delivering complex infrastructure. He noted that the new data center will be designed for rapid deployment and scalability, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and advanced technology. Trentar aims to source at least 51% of the facility's energy from renewable sources, incorporating innovative technologies for energy storage and water efficiency.

This ambitious project is positioned to meet India's increasing demand for computing capacity, driven by the expansion of artificial intelligence, cloud services, and data-intensive applications. Trentar's investment represents a strategic move into the digital infrastructure landscape, aiming to create a secure and resilient ecosystem for India's digital future.

Looking ahead, Trentar plans to leverage its expertise in process engineering and energy management to develop the data center campus. The project is expected to serve as a foundational element of Trentar's digital infrastructure platform, supporting a wide range of applications in AI, cloud computing, and high-performance computing.
