The tragic event unfolded on October 9, when the couple visited a tourist location near Patgaon village, where Vadar pushed Tarannum into a gorge following an argument about her impending marriage to another man.
Tarannum and Vadar had been in a relationship for approximately four to five years. However, complications arose when Tarannum's family arranged her marriage four months prior to the incident. This development led to a noticeable change in her interactions with Vadar, who became increasingly upset. He lured her to the gorge under the pretense of a final meeting before her marriage, where he confronted her about their relationship.
After the incident, Vadar attempted to mislead authorities by reporting Tarannum as missing. He claimed that while he had stepped away to fetch water, she had vanished. However, police investigations revealed inconsistencies in his narrative, prompting them to dig deeper into the case. The Sahyadri Rescue Team was called in, and they discovered Tarannum's body in the gorge on October 14.
