In a recent bureaucratic reshuffle, the Maharashtra Government has transferred three IAS officers as of October 6. IAS Sanjay Khandare, previously serving as the Additional Chief Secretary in the Tourism Department, has now been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary of the Forest Department, located at Mantralaya in Mumbai.
Sanjay Khandare, a member of the 1996 batch of IAS officers from the Maharashtra cadre, has taken on this new role amid ongoing efforts to optimize departmental leadership. His experience in various capacities within the government is expected to aid in the management of forest resources and environmental policies.
In addition to Khandare, IAS Sanjay Yadav, who belongs to the 2009 batch of the Maharashtra cadre, has been reassigned from his position as State Project Director of the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan in Mumbai. He will now serve as the Secretary of the Tourism Department at Mantralaya, a role that will involve overseeing the state's tourism initiatives and development strategies.
Furthermore, IAS Vaishnavi B, a 2019 batch officer, has been transferred to serve as the Additional Divisional Commissioner for the Nagpur Division. She previously held the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad in Akola, where she gained valuable experience in local governance and administrative functions.
These transfers reflect the Maharashtra Government's strategy to enhance administrative efficiency and ensure that experienced officers are placed in critical roles. The implications of these changes will likely be observed in the respective departments as they adapt to new leadership and priorities in the coming months.
