ENcore Systems will provide technology solutions for the plant's operations.

Utex New Energy, part of the Pagariya Group, has officially signed an agreement to construct a battery energy storage system (BESS) assembly plant in Nagpur, Maharashtra. This facility is projected to have an annual capacity of 20 GWh, with ENcore Systems acting as the technology partner for this ambitious project. The assembly plant will be developed in two phases, starting with an initial capacity of 5.5 GWh, which is expected to scale up to the full capacity within one to two years.

The design of the plant includes a fully automated production line that will utilize advanced industrial robots from KUKA, a German company. This setup is specifically engineered to manage battery cells with capacities reaching up to 628 Ah. Quality assurance will be a critical component of the production process, encompassing thorough checks at every stage, from the inspection of incoming materials to in-process evaluations and final product testing.

Production management will be facilitated through a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) that integrates with SAP, ensuring real-time monitoring of production output, quality control, traceability, and overall operational performance. This integration is expected to enhance efficiency and reliability in the manufacturing process.

ENcore Systems, known for its expertise in system integration, will contribute technology solutions tailored for the battery assembly operations at the new plant. The company specializes in providing turnkey solutions that encompass both fully automated and semi-automated processes for lithium-ion battery manufacturing, including the assembly of cells into modules and modules into packs.

Utex has emphasized the importance of this partnership with ENcore Systems, highlighting that it will combine technological innovation with manufacturing expertise to create a state-of-the-art production facility. The focus will be on establishing a robust, automated manufacturing environment that prioritizes quality control, production oversight, and the planned increase in production capacity as demand grows.
