Two Arrested with 7 Grams of Suspected MD Drugs in Nagpur

In a recent operation targeting drug trafficking in Nagpur, the Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Crime Branch arrested two individuals in the Ganeshpeth locality. The arrests occurred late at night behind Sakhle Guruji School, where authorities seized approximately 7 grams of a substance believed to be MD drugs, alongside other valuable items worth ₹7.26 lakh.

The operation was initiated following specific intelligence regarding drug activities in the area. The arrested individuals, identified as Sheikh Faizan Sheikh Aslam and Abdul Anees, are reportedly residents of the Bada Tajbagh region. During the raid, police recovered not only the suspected narcotic but also three mobile phones, an Activa scooter, and a car, all of which contributed to the total estimated value of the confiscated property.

Preliminary interrogations revealed that the suspects named two alleged suppliers, Aman Ingle and Sandeep Kashyap, who are believed to be connected to the distribution of the drugs. Both suppliers are currently evading capture, prompting police to initiate a search operation to locate and apprehend them. The authorities are keen to dismantle the broader network involved in the drug trade.

A formal case has been registered at the Ganeshpeth police station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The arrested individuals have been handed over to the local police for further investigation into their activities and connections.

As the investigation unfolds, police are focusing on tracing the supply chain of the suspected MD substance. They aim to identify additional individuals involved in the drug trafficking network and to understand the operational dynamics of the illicit drug trade within the city, which has been a growing concern for law enforcement agencies.
