In a recent incident at the Koradi Thermal Power Station, two men were arrested on November 1 for allegedly stealing copper plates worth ₹11,200. Security personnel on patrol caught the suspects, identified as Narendra Vishwakarma, 27, and Pramod Suryavanshi, 28, in the act of removing the plates from electrical panel boards around 2:30 PM.
The theft was reported by Nilesh Dudhabarve, a junior security officer at the power station, who observed the two men tampering with two ISM panel boards. The quick response of the security guards, who were conducting their routine checks in the 210MW section, led to the immediate detention of the suspects before they could escape with the stolen items.
Upon their apprehension, the guards notified the local police, who arrived promptly at the scene. The police took the suspects into custody and recovered the stolen copper plates along with other evidence. The case was registered under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for theft, based on Dudhabarve's complaint.
This incident raises concerns about security at the Koradi Thermal Power Station, prompting authorities to investigate whether Vishwakarma and Suryavanshi may have been involved in other thefts at the facility. The ongoing investigation aims to uncover any potential patterns of theft that could compromise the power station's operations.
As the investigation continues, the Koradi police are working diligently to ensure that all aspects of the case are thoroughly examined. Further developments are expected as the police delve deeper into the suspects' backgrounds and any possible connections to previous incidents of theft in the area.
