The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is preparing for its annual Vijayadashami Utsav, scheduled for October 20 in Nagpur. The event will kick off at 7:40 AM, featuring Sanjay Gupta, the Editor-in-Chief of Dainik Jagran, as the chief guest. Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, the RSS Sarsanghchalak, will deliver the traditional Vijayadashami address, marking a significant moment in the organization's calendar.
The Vijayadashami celebrations are deeply rooted in the RSS's history, as the organization was founded by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in Nagpur on this auspicious day in 1925. This year’s event is particularly noteworthy as it follows the centenary celebrations that took place in 2025, reflecting the RSS's ongoing commitment to engage with various segments of society.
Israeli Consul General Yaniv Revach is set to attend the celebrations, having previously visited Nagpur in January. During that visit, he commended the RSS for its dedication to education, youth engagement, and leadership development. Revach expressed his admiration for the discipline and the strong connection to Indian culture and history he observed during his time with the organization.
Revach highlighted the importance of the RSS's investment in education and youth activities, drawing parallels between the organization's approach and similar movements in Israel. He noted that such initiatives are crucial for fostering a strong community and a caring society. His remarks underscore the significance of the RSS's role in shaping the future through youth engagement and innovation.
The Vijayadashami Utsav is not only a local event but also a nationwide celebration, featuring various programs such as Ghosh Vadan (band performances) and Path Sanchalan (route marches) by swayamsevaks across the country. As the RSS continues its traditions, the upcoming celebrations in Nagpur promise to be a gathering of swayamsevaks, distinguished guests, and notable personalities, reinforcing the organization's enduring legacy.
