In a significant development in Nagpur, the Crime Branch Unit-4 has apprehended a two-member gang involved in vehicle thefts, recovering four stolen motorcycles valued at approximately Rs 3.20 lakh. The suspects include a 20-year-old habitual offender and a minor, both of whom were caught during a police operation near KDK College playground after being reported for suspicious behavior.

The operation was initiated following specific intelligence that indicated two youths were seen with a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival at the scene, police noticed the suspects attempting to flee but managed to detain them for questioning. The adult suspect was identified as Ashish alias Pranit alias Raftaar Shailesh Waghmare, a resident of Lumbini Nagar, while the second individual was confirmed to be a minor.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed that the Honda Activa they were using had been stolen from a case reported at the Hudkeshwar police station. Their admissions led investigators to uncover their involvement in three additional thefts across different police jurisdictions, including Hudkeshwar, Ajni, and Tehsil. The duo had concealed the stolen bikes within the KDK College premises, covering them with tarpaulin to evade detection.

The recovered vehicles include a Honda Activa, two Hero Honda Splendors, and a TVS Apache, all of which are now in police custody. The initial theft case was reported on October 28 by Pranjal Akshay Warkhade, who discovered his parked Honda Activa missing after returning home. This incident prompted the Hudkeshwar police to register a case against unknown suspects.

The successful recovery of these vehicles has provided law enforcement with crucial leads in the ongoing investigation into motorcycle thefts in Nagpur. The adult suspect and the minor have been handed over to the Hudkeshwar police for further legal proceedings, while efforts continue to determine their involvement in other thefts and to recover any additional stolen property.
