In a significant crackdown on suspected sex trafficking, a joint operation by the Social Security Department and the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) led to the arrest of a 44-year-old woman at Hotel Royal Mansion in Nagpur. The raid, conducted under the jurisdiction of Hudkeshwar police station, targeted an alleged sex trade operation that involved luring women into commercial sex work.

The operation was initiated after police received credible information regarding illicit activities at the hotel. Authorities deployed a decoy customer to facilitate the sting operation, during which a deal was reportedly made for ₹2,000. Investigators revealed that the accused, Sameena Wasim Sheikh, was allegedly involved in arranging customers for women, promising them lucrative earnings in a short span of time.

During the raid, police confiscated ₹2,000 in cash and a mobile phone valued at approximately ₹12,000, bringing the total value of seized items to ₹14,510. The operation also led to the rescue of a woman from Madhya Pradesh, who had been living in Nagpur for about a month. She was reportedly residing in a rented room in the Hudkeshwar area before the raid.

The arrested woman, Sameena Sheikh, is reported to be a widow with three minor daughters. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding her alleged involvement in the sex trade, as well as the broader implications of this case for the local community and ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking.

Authorities have registered a case against Sheikh at Hudkeshwar police station under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. Investigations are ongoing, with police seeking to uncover further details about the operation and any additional individuals involved.
