On November 4, a 51-year-old driver in Nagpur was injured after being attacked by three youths who allegedly threw a firecracker and then struck him with a cement block. The incident took place on Besa Pipala Road, where Kishore Khanorkar was with friends when the youths, aged between 20 and 25, threw a 'sutli' bomb towards them.
According to the police report, Khanorkar and his friends were smoking in a designated area when the youths confronted them. Following the confrontation, the situation escalated, leading to a physical altercation. One of the attackers picked up a cement block from the roadside and hit Khanorkar in the face, resulting in significant injuries.
Khanorkar was immediately taken to a private hospital for treatment, where he received care for his nasal injury and the loss of a tooth. After receiving medical attention, he filed a complaint at the Hudkeshwar police station, prompting authorities to register a case against the unidentified assailants.
Police investigations revealed that four to five firecrackers were used during the incident, which violated the city's ban on bursting crackers in public areas. A police team has visited the scene to gather evidence and record statements from witnesses.
