All parties involved reported no complaints regarding police treatment during custody.
In a significant development in the murder case of Lucknow cafe owner Shiva Sharma, model and social media influencer Shraddha Dubey was remanded to the Uttar Pradesh police for 72 hours by a Nagpur court. This decision was made after she, along with her sister Rashmi and driver Tanveer Ali, appeared before Chief Judicial Magistrate S D Kamat following a night at the Hudkeshwar Police Station.
During the court proceedings, Chief Judicial Magistrate S D Kamat inquired if the Dubey sisters or their driver had any grievances regarding their treatment by the police. All three responded negatively, which facilitated the court's decision to grant the transit remand. The UP police are required to present the accused before the Chief Judicial Magistrate in Lucknow by 2:50 PM on October 24.
Shraddha Dubey confirmed to the judge that her legal counsel was informed of her arrest, indicating that she was aware of her legal rights. The Nagpur police took extra precautions in handling her case due to her prominence as a social media influencer, which could potentially impact public perception and media coverage. Previously, Dubey had publicly claimed innocence through her social media platforms, asserting that she was wrongfully implicated in the murder case.
The court proceedings adhered to strict legal protocols, ensuring that all police actions and movements were meticulously documented. Assistant Public Prosecutor Shailendra Singh represented the prosecution, while the Uttar Pradesh police team included Inspector Shreeprakash Singh from Hazratganj police station, underscoring the seriousness of the investigation.
As the case unfolds, the implications for Shraddha Dubey and the broader context of the investigation into Shiva Sharma's murder remain significant. The upcoming court appearance in Lucknow will be crucial in determining the next steps in this high-profile case, which has garnered considerable media attention and public interest.
