The Maharashtra Cabinet has made a pivotal decision to allocate ₹644.63 crore for the establishment of an International Agriculture Facility Centre in Nagpur. This decision was made during a Cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai, where multiple significant resolutions were passed, impacting various sectors including agriculture, transportation, and education.
The proposed agricultural centre will be located on the premises of the College of Agriculture, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, situated in the Dabha area of Nagpur. This initiative aims to bolster agricultural infrastructure and enhance facilities in the region, marking a substantial investment in local agriculture.
In addition to the agricultural centre, the Cabinet has approved the allocation of 1.86 hectares of land to the Bidgaon-Tarodi (Khurd)-Pandhurna Nagar Panchayat for the construction of its administrative building. This move is expected to strengthen local governance and improve civic administration.
Furthermore, the Cabinet introduced the Maharashtra Traffic Police Challan Amnesty Scheme-2026, which provides vehicle owners with a one-time concession of up to 20% on outstanding traffic fines. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on motorists and encourage them to settle their dues at reduced rates.
Other notable decisions include a significant increase in monthly allowances for hostel students from marginalized communities and an enhanced internship allowance for final-year veterinary students. The Cabinet's resolutions reflect a commitment to improving the welfare of students, farmers, and local governance, with the agricultural facility in Nagpur being a highlight of regional development efforts.
