The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) officials reported that the fire quickly spread due to the structure's materials, which included tin sheets and wood. Firefighters from Ganeshpeth Fire Station arrived within four minutes of the alarm and initiated firefighting efforts. As the flames extended to nearby homes, additional fire tenders were called in to assist with the operation.
Fire officials confirmed that a total of four fire tenders and four water bowsers were deployed, with the latter making numerous trips to ensure a steady water supply. After several hours of intense firefighting, the blaze was finally brought under control. A fire tender remained on-site as a precaution until 3:50 PM.
The preliminary assessment indicated that damages amounted to approximately Rs 35 lakh at the refrigeration shop alone.
