Chandrapur sends a 50-member delegation to National Unity Day in Gujarat.
The initiative aims to foster national integration among districts previously affected by extremism.
Delegates will explore development projects in Gujarat before the main event.
A 50-member delegation from Chandrapur, consisting of social workers, students, and entrepreneurs, is set to participate in the National Unity Day celebrations in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, commemorating the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The event will take place at the iconic Statue of Unity on Saturday, October 31.
This initiative, organized by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, extends special invitations to residents from Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, and Gondia—Maharashtra districts that have historically faced challenges from Left-wing extremism. The goal is to enhance national integration and connect these communities with the broader developmental narrative of the country.
The delegation's journey to Gujarat is divided into three groups: the first group of three members departed on October 26, followed by 33 members on October 29, and the final group of 14 on October 30. They are accompanied by police officers Mangesh Bhongale, Darasingh Rajput, and Manojkumar Nale, ensuring the safety and coordination of the trip.
Under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Ayush Nopani and Additional SP Ishwar Katkade, arrangements have been meticulously planned. Police Inspector Nishikant Ramteke is overseeing the logistics, including travel, accommodation, and security for the delegation.
Prior to the main ceremony, the delegates will visit significant sites, including the Sardar Sarovar project and Ekta Complex, to gain insights into Gujarat's development initiatives. This trip not only honors Sardar Patel's legacy but also aims to inspire unity and progress among communities in Maharashtra.
