The Medical Department is set to launch a Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Vaccination Campaign in Zunheboto District, encouraging eligible girls to participate. This initiative is designed to safeguard girls against cervical cancer, a serious health concern. The vaccination offers an impressive 93% to 100% protection rate and has been implemented in over 160 countries since its inception in 2006.

Eligible girls must be 14 years old, specifically those who have turned 14 but not yet 15. They are required to present their Aadhaar Card or Birth Certificate for verification during the vaccination. While the vaccine is costly in private hospitals, costing around ₹5,000 per dose, it will be available for free under the government program.
