Volvo has officially launched its latest luxury SUV, the EX90, in India, with an introductory price of ₹1.26 crore. This all-electric vehicle is designed to appeal to consumers looking for a safe and modern SUV, and it will be available alongside the existing XC90 model for those preferring petrol options. The EX90 is expected to redefine luxury electric vehicles in the Indian market.
The EX90 is the electric counterpart to Volvo's flagship XC90, boasting a sleek design and a host of advanced features. With the XC90 aging, the EX90 aims to attract buyers with its modern aesthetics and enhanced functionalities. The introductory pricing is valid until December 31, 2026, and includes a package offering an 11 kW home charger, a three-year service plan, and a buyback guarantee of 65% of the ex-showroom value after three years.
Performance-wise, the EX90 is equipped with a robust 106 kWh battery and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. This setup generates approximately 456 bhp and 670 Nm of torque, allowing the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds, with a top speed of 180 km/h. The vehicle's claimed range is around 625 km under the WLTP cycle, although real-world usage may yield a range closer to 550-575 km.
The EX90 is designed with practicality in mind, featuring a ground clearance of 210 mm, which can be increased to 250 mm with adjustable air suspension. The interior is a six-seater layout with captain seats in the second row, although these seats lack power adjustments and ventilation. A large panoramic sunroof offers adjustable transparency, enhancing the cabin experience. The infotainment system is centered around a 14.5-inch touchscreen, minimizing physical controls.
With a comprehensive list of features, the EX90 includes four-zone climate control, a premium 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system, ambient lighting, nine airbags, advanced Level-2 ADAS, wireless connectivity options, a 360-degree camera, and more. As Volvo continues to strengthen its presence in the luxury electric vehicle segment, the EX90 is poised to make a significant impact in the Indian automotive market.
