The new schedule allows for a 23.5-hour trading window, effective from November 2, 2026.

The NSE International Exchange (NSEIX) has announced an extension of trading hours for GIFT Nifty, with the morning session now commencing at 5:15 AM IST, effective November 2, 2026. This change allows investors greater access to the market, aligning with global trading hours and enabling them to react to overnight developments before the Indian markets open.
Previously, the morning session began at 6:30 AM IST, but the new schedule introduces a pre-open session starting at 5 AM IST, followed by normal trading hours from 5:15 AM to 3:40 PM. The second trading session remains unchanged, continuing from 4:05 PM until 2:45 AM IST the next day. This adjustment reflects NSEIX's commitment to providing a more flexible trading environment for international participants.
On November 3, NSEIX reported the successful implementation of these enhanced trading hours, which now span 23 hours and 30 minutes daily. The exchange's operating window runs from 3:15 AM IST to 2:45 AM IST the following day, covering significant trading hours across Asia, Europe, and America. This strategic move is designed to facilitate better market exposure for global investors.

The extended hours are expected to provide participants with increased flexibility to respond to global market changes, thereby improving overall trading efficiency.
Looking ahead, NSEIX aims to continue refining its technological infrastructure to support these extended hours, ensuring minimal downtime for system maintenance. Investors and traders are encouraged to leverage these new timings to optimize their trading strategies in response to global market dynamics.
