Google is offering free access to Antigravity for 10,000 scientists for six months.
The Gemini app has officially begun rolling out the Gemini 4 Argon model to subscribers of its AI Pro and AI Ultra tiers. This rollout follows the announcement made at the end of September, where initial access was limited to the Ultra tier, priced at $99.99 and above. Users can now expect significant enhancements in reasoning capabilities and overall performance, particularly in handling complex workflows.
Gemini 4 Argon aims to provide users with more direct answers, minimizing unnecessary repetition and clichés in responses. Additionally, the model is designed to keep users informed about its progress during longer tasks, ensuring a more interactive experience. The app also allows users to switch seamlessly between chatting and coding, particularly beneficial for those utilizing the coding interface in the Antigravity desktop application.
In the Antigravity platform, which requires an AI Ultra subscription, Argon has demonstrated its capabilities by assisting various teams at Google. For instance, it helped the Chrome team streamline their codebase, significantly reducing the time required for architectural refactoring. This improvement is expected to enhance user experience by allowing smoother transitions between browser tabs and windows without the need for reloading.
Furthermore, Argon has been instrumental in optimizing YouTube's comment section, cutting down server load latency and improving overall performance. The model is also available in the Gemini API at a promotional rate until the end of November 2026, after which prices will increase.
Looking ahead, Google is committed to supporting scientific research by providing 10,000 scientists with complimentary access to the highest usage tier in Google Antigravity for six months. Applications for this initiative are currently open, reflecting Google's ongoing investment in AI and its applications across various sectors.
