A family from Uttar Pradesh experienced a distressing incident during their pilgrimage to Himachal Pradesh when they inadvertently left their eight-year-old son at a dhaba in the Dhusara area of Amb, Una district. After stopping for tea and breakfast, the family resumed their journey in a Tempo Traveller, unaware that the child had not boarded the vehicle with them.

The boy was left behind at the dhaba, where local residents soon noticed him sitting alone and crying. Concerned for his safety, they promptly informed the police about the situation. Officers arrived quickly to assess the circumstances and took the child into their care, initiating efforts to locate his family.

To trace the family, police reviewed CCTV footage from Amb Chowk and surrounding areas. This investigation led them to identify the Tempo Traveller that had left the dhaba. By using the vehicle's registration number, authorities contacted the owner and subsequently reached out to the driver, informing them of the child's situation.

The family, having driven approximately 80 kilometers before realizing their mistake, was alerted to the fact that their son was still at the dhaba. They promptly turned back to reunite with him. Vishal Thakur, a local resident who witnessed the incident, confirmed that the family had stopped for refreshments and had left the boy behind.

After completing the necessary legal formalities, Amb DSP Anil Patiyal confirmed that the boy was safely returned to his parents. The swift action of the local community and police ensured the child was not left alone for long, highlighting the importance of vigilance during travel.
