Tragic Collapse at Hyderabad College Dandiya Event Claims Life of Student

A tragic incident unfolded at MVSR Engineering College in Nadergul, Hyderabad, on Saturday, when an arch fitted with lights collapsed during a Dandiya event, resulting in the death of a first-year engineering student. Sona Narayan Das, who was pursuing Electrical and Electronics Engineering, suffered severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

The collapse, reportedly triggered by strong winds, also left 14 other attendees injured. Among the injured was Sona's sister, Meena Narayan Das, who is currently receiving treatment at Pratyusha Hospital. Initial reports indicated that her condition was critical, but authorities later confirmed that all injured individuals are now out of danger.

In response to this tragic event, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and emphasized the need for thorough medical care for the injured. He instructed officials to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collapse and to hold accountable those responsible for the incident.

This incident has raised concerns about safety measures at public events, particularly in light of the large gatherings that Dandiya celebrations typically attract.
