Rescue operations have entered their third day in the flood-affected regions along the Nepal-Tibet border, yet families of missing pilgrims from Maharashtra remain in the dark about their loved ones. Among those unaccounted for are Thane residents Aparna and Sameer Joshi, who were on their first trip to Nepal for the Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra. Their last communication was on August 26, raising concerns among family members.
The Maharashtra disaster management department reports that more than 290 tourists from the state are stranded in Nepal, with over 60 Maharashtrians part of the Kailash-Mansarovar trek untraceable. Families are turning to social media to circulate missing posters and coordinate efforts, as they await clarity from authorities and the tour operator, Richa Tours and Travels.
