The RSS chief calls for unity and dialogue, urging society to reject divisive forces.
During his annual Dussehra address, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat expressed concerns regarding the notion of 'regime change' in India, drawing parallels with recent unrest in France and Albania. He highlighted the ongoing protests against the Election Commission, asserting that attempts to destabilize the Indian government are underway, similar to situations in other countries.
Bhagwat pointed out that while protests are a natural part of democratic expression, they should focus on constructive solutions rather than fostering division. He stated, "Problems arise and movements take shape; however, these should be directed toward finding solutions." His remarks underline the importance of maintaining civility and respect during public dissent.
In his speech, Bhagwat also cautioned against the motivations behind some protests, suggesting that they should not be driven by the desire for political gain or popularity. He advocated for dialogue as a means to achieve genuine resolutions, stating, "Movements alone do not provide solutions; true solutions emerge from dialogue and mutual discourse within society."
Furthermore, Bhagwat warned of external forces attempting to create chaos and discontent among the populace. He urged citizens to remain vigilant against such divisive tactics, emphasizing the need for unity and the preservation of India's diverse cultural fabric. He remarked, "We must protect our mutual goodwill by remaining alert and safeguarding ourselves against the intellectual confusion created by such divisive tendencies."
Looking ahead, Bhagwat called for a collective effort to foster national pride and cultural unity, encouraging people to embrace their shared heritage. He concluded with a vision for India to aspire towards becoming a global leader, urging citizens to abandon individual egos and misconceptions about diversity, and to focus on the bonds that unite them as a nation.
