Prime Minister Narendra Modi contacted veteran politician Sharad Pawar on Wednesday to inquire about his health following Pawar's recent discharge from a private hospital in Pune. The 85-year-old leader was admitted on Monday due to pleuritic pain and was released two days later, on Wednesday.
During the call, PM Modi expressed his concern and urged Pawar to take complete rest, assuring him that he need not worry about his political responsibilities. According to Vitthal Maniyar, a close aide of Pawar, the Prime Minister conveyed that Pawar's daughter, Supriya, is prepared to manage affairs in his absence, allowing him to focus on recovery.
Pawar, in response, thanked Modi for his thoughtful inquiry and reassured him that he would prioritize his health. The veteran politician's hospitalization raised concerns among his supporters, but the recent updates indicate that he is stable and recovering well.
Dr. Purvez K Grant, the chairman and managing trustee of Ruby Hall Clinic, confirmed that Pawar was discharged in good health and would be returning directly to his residence in Mumbai. This incident highlights the ongoing health challenges faced by senior politicians in India and the importance of health management at an advanced age.
Looking ahead, Pawar's recovery will be closely monitored, and his ability to return to active political life remains a topic of interest for many. As he recuperates, the political landscape in Maharashtra will continue to evolve, with Supriya Pawar stepping up to take on more responsibilities during her father's recovery period.
