On October 31, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Gujarat, initiating his itinerary with a focus on development projects in Banaskantha district. The visit is strategically timed ahead of the National Unity Day celebrations, which honor the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Modi's first stop will be the Embryo Transfer Technology-In Vitro Fertilisation (ET-IVF) Laboratory and the Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre (BBBRC) cattle farm, where he will assess advancements in agricultural technology.
Following his tour, PM Modi is set to lay the foundation stones and inaugurate several development initiatives in Banaskantha, with a total investment exceeding Rs 14,000 crore. A significant highlight of this visit will be the release of the 24th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), which will provide Rs 19,000 crore in financial assistance to eligible farmers, aimed at enhancing their economic stability.
In addition to the financial support, the Prime Minister will flag off two new train services and address a public gathering in Banaskantha, further engaging with the local community. After these events, he will proceed to Ekta Nagar, the location of the Statue of Unity, where he will inaugurate Bharat Parv 2026 as part of the National Unity Day festivities.
The evening will see PM Modi participating in the Ekta Prakash Parv and the Narmada Aarti, which are integral to the celebrations. His visit will culminate with the National Unity Day observance on October 31, commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, who played a crucial role in the unification of India post-independence. The events at Ekta Nagar serve to honor Patel's contributions to national integrity and unity.
As National Unity Day approaches, the significance of Patel's legacy is underscored, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in nation-building. The Statue of Unity, standing tall at 182 meters near the Sardar Sarovar Dam, symbolizes the enduring values of unity and integrity that Patel championed throughout his life.
